The YDK E-KCV100 flanged solenoid valve is an automatic diaphragm-type fluid control valve combined with a solenoid pilot valve (Solenoid Guide Valve). It is designed to open and close water pipelines through an electromagnetic control signal, without the need for a manual operator.
With its durable ductile iron body, the valve operates quietly, helps limit water hammer, and is an excellent fit for water supply and drainage systems, fire protection systems, and industrial projects that require automation.

Features of the YDK E-KCV100 solenoid valve
The YDK E-KCV100 solenoid valve from An Phu Thanh is manufactured on a modern production line, ensuring output quality standards are met. This type of valve works on the principle of pressure balance between the control chamber above the diaphragm and the pressure of the main flow.
When the valve receives an open signal, water from the upstream side is admitted into, or discharged out of, the control chamber above the diaphragm, creating a pressure difference that lifts the disc open and allows the fluid to pass through.
When the valve loses the signal or receives a close command, the water path into the control chamber is cut off or reversed, and the pressure change in the chamber makes the disc close, blocking the flow completely.
Detailed construction of the E-KCV100 solenoid valve
| No. | Component | Material | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Body | Ductile iron GGG50 | Main valve shell with flanges at both ends, containing the disc cavity and the upper control chamber |
| 2 | Seat | Brass | Fixed seating surface inside the valve body, working with the disc to form the seal when closed |
| 3 | Shaft | Carbon steel | Central support shaft, transmitting motion from the diaphragm down to the disc |
| 4 | Gasket | EPDM | Additional sealing gasket at the internal assembly faces of the valve body |
| 5 | Disc | Ductile iron GGG50 | Main opening/closing element, moving axially to regulate or block the flow |
| 6 | Diaphragm | EPDM | Elastic rubber membrane separating the upper control chamber from the main fluid cavity, acted on by pressure to push the disc closed or open |
| 7 | Shaft | Carbon steel | Auxiliary shaft in the actuating assembly, helping to position the diaphragm |
| 8 | Stem | Stainless steel | Fastening part that secures the shaft and diaphragm assembly |
| 9 | Guide stem | Stainless steel SS410 | Guide shaft ensuring the disc moves along the correct axial line |
| 10 | Spring | Stainless steel | Assists the closing force or balances the disc position during operation |
| 11 | Solenoid pilot valve | Brass | Pilot valve controlled by an electrical signal, opening and closing the water path into the control chamber on command from the central control system or a timer |
| 12 | Bonnet | Ductile iron GGG50 | Seals the upper control chamber, housing the diaphragm assembly and the spring |
| 13 | Bolts | Alloy steel A2-70 | Fasten the bonnet and the component assemblies to the valve body |
| 14 | Needle valve | Brass | Small throttling valve on the pilot line, adjusting the opening/closing speed of the main valve |
| 15 | Threaded ball valve | Brass | Small isolation valve on the pilot line, used for manual shut-off when the control assembly needs maintenance, without affecting the main valve |

Applications of the YDK E-KCV100 flanged solenoid valve
The YDK solenoid valve is suitable for systems that need automation and do not rely on manual operation:
1. Automatic water filling for storage tanks and water towers
This is the most common application of solenoid valves. The valve is installed on the water supply line, usually right before the inlet of the tank or water tower. Inside the tank, a separate water level sensor measures the water level and sends a signal to the control cabinet. When the water runs low, the control cabinet commands the valve on the pipeline to open to supply more water. When the tank is full, the control cabinet commands the valve to close.
2. Scheduled opening and closing
A timer can be set so that the solenoid valve opens and closes automatically in preset time slots. For example, an automatic irrigation system can water plants in the morning, or water can be supplied only during off-peak hours.
3. Connection to a central control system
In large buildings with a dedicated control room (SCADA or BMS type), the valve is installed on the main pipelines, with signal wiring run back to the control room so that operators can open/close the valve or monitor its status directly on a computer, without having to go to the installation location to check the valve status.
4. Automatic fire-fighting valve
When the fire alarm system sends a signal, the valve opens immediately to supply water for fire-fighting, much faster than waiting for someone to run to the valve location to operate it manually.

Some notes on operating and maintaining the YDK E-KCV100 solenoid valve
- Check the power supply to the YDK solenoid valve. Make sure the power is stable and the voltage matches the valve’s specification, because unstable voltage is a common cause of a solenoid valve working erratically or failing to respond to signals.
- Adjust the needle valve to balance the opening/closing speed, to avoid closing too quickly, which causes hydraulic shock when the solenoid valve shuts suddenly on an instantaneous electrical signal.
- Periodically check the threaded ball valve on the pilot line, making sure it stays open during normal operation. Close it only when isolation is needed to maintain the control assembly.
- Do not let the water in the pilot line form scale or carry large impurities. A small strainer should be installed on the pilot line before the solenoid valve, because the coil and the solenoid valve mechanism are quite sensitive to dirt, which can easily cause sticking or leakage at the solenoid valve if the water is not filtered clean.
